We are excited to announce that the Coalition for Anti-Racism, Social Justice, and Equity (SAS-OUE CASE) has compiled a Social Justice Bibliography featuring selected work of scholars in our SAS community. Part of CASE’s mission is to foster opportunities for members of the Rutgers community to connect with each other and share perspectives, ideas, and resources related to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. This bibliography is designed to serve as a resource for students, staff, and faculty. Hence, it was generated by a call for submissions of work that is accessible to a general audience. This is only a small slice of the tremendous amount of excellent scholarly work that Rutgers faculty and staff in the School of Arts and Sciences are conducting related to topics of racism, social justice, equity, and inclusion.

The bibliography is a working document with an ongoing open call for submissions. It is our goal to increase its breadth and encourage more scholars across SAS to share their work. As noted above, we are looking for accessible pieces of scholarship that are geared toward a general audience, and invite scholars to submit up to two pieces for inclusion. If you wish, we can also include a link to your full vitae. We encourage you and your colleagues to submit work to the CASE Social Justice Bibliography here.

In an effort to raise even more awareness of your excellent scholarship and build communities around these important conversations, CASE is also initiating the Social Justice Bibliography Spotlight Series. Each of the Spotlight Series events will feature one of the bibliography’s contributing authors, and the event will be an opportunity for the scholar to present and discuss their work with an audience of faculty, staff, and students over Zoom.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the two Spotlight Series events this spring.

The first will feature Carter Mathes on Thursday, March 24th from 12PM-1PM and the second will feature Sarbani Sen Vengadasalam on Tuesday, April 5th from 12PM-1PM.
