Join us, Friday, September 18th at 10:00-11:00 am on Zoom, for a conversation with Abigail Zitin, Director of the Writing Program and Associate Professor of English, about the learning goals, methods, and strategies used in the recently revised (2022-2023) College Writing course, English 101. Abigail will lead us in conversation about how the new curriculum's emphasis on metacognition is designed to support students writing across disciplines, helping students to develop habits and strategies that will help them to succeed at the various writing tasks they'll encounter in and beyond their undergraduate career. Together, we will explore not just the methods and norms implemented in the course, but also best practices for helping students develop their expressive and persuasive abilities, even in light of the increasing use of generative AI.
