Information: The purpose of the current project is to expand and improve upon the current STAT curriculum. Student Taking Action Together (STAT) is a set of instructional strategies focused on developing adolescents’ social-emotional learning skills (SEL) and introducing civil discourse into the classroom (https://www.secdlab.org/about-stat ). The primary approach this project will be taking is through a revision of current STAT instruction modules to make content more engaging to teachers and middle schoolers. The project will also include the development of pre and post-curriculum evaluation. Pre-curriculum evaluations will be carried out by assessing the current curriculum and its usage. Information: Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic high school is ranked 67th in the national high school rankings and 4th for New Jersey high schools according to U.S. News & World Report. Information: This project will focus on the influences of Minoan art and culture on Ancient Egyptian art and culture. The Minoan civilization is one that often goes overlooked in comparison to other ancient peoples. The project will bring to light the Minoan story and its cultural influences beyond the infamous Minotaur myth. Information: The Rutgers Geology Museum provides a unique opportunity for students both to examine a topic in depth and to learn how to present that topic to a general audience in an informal science education setting.
